Our story

Founded in 2018, by lawyers, for insurance.

Mitre was founded in 2018 to fill a specific gap in the London market: a boutique, genuinely independent claims management company serving both policyholders and insurers, with a team made up entirely of qualified claims professionals.

Our handlers have extensive experience as professional-negligence solicitors in private practice and in-house with leading insurers. That heritage shapes how we approach every notification — calmly, with structured analysis, and with the authority of a lawyer's opinion behind every recommendation.

Today we act for over 400 clients worldwide. We remain deliberately small. That is a feature, not a limitation.
